Community Food Program
The His Provision Too meal program will be taking a break to focus on either raising up new leadership or finding new ways to serve the community. The last meal for the summer will be served on Saturday July 4th.
We know that decision affects many people, so we want to let all know why we’re taking this break.
As you may know, our faithful leader Kathy Jennell recently stepped down from her role as Program Director and we have not yet found her replacement.
In addition, Kathy’s husband David, our Buyer who orders all the HPT food and supplies, is recovering from an auto accident and is unable to continue doing this work.
Their tireless work behind the scenes have made it possible for the five Saturday teams that cook and serve each week to be ready to go. Without our Program Director and our Buyer, we’re needing to figure out next steps.
So we feel the best way to move forward is to take a step back. This will allow us time to assess how HPT might be structured and led in the future. This break will also provide rest for our volunteers, many of whom have served continually since HPT started 5 years ago.
Our biggest regret is that a break means that we won’t be serving our guests during this time.
We are so thankful to all who have been a part of His Provision Too over the years.
We will miss being with you, and will work diligently to figure out the right next steps. We will be praying for you and hope that you’ll be praying for us too.
